In its second edition this year, MeshMinds 2.0: ArtxTechforGood features artworks that use technology to highlight environmental concerns. One of the featured artworks is by LASALLE student Yashini Renganathan, whose 3D-printed artwork makes visible the problem of light pollution in Singapore, a serious though often overlooked matter. The rest of the artworks in the exhibit fuse art and technology to create immersive environments that help visitors understand the intangible effects of environmental issues from a unique perspective. Alexandria, so named after the most significant library of the ancient world, is envisioned as a monument for our future. The underground library serves to protect the world’s collective knowledge should an apocalypse happen, featuring spaces such as a 360º physical cloud that stores digital time capsules of humanity’s history, and an amphitheatre that supports hologram projection and augmented reality.

Berita Mediacorp: Reflecting on Malay-Muslim identity through contemporary art
Several artworks by local veteran artist and LASALLE Fine Arts Senior Lecturer Salleh Japar are featured in STILL, an exhibit currently showing at the Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore. A collaboration with fellow lecturer Joanne Pang, together with students from the School of Design Communication, Salleh's works investigate the Malay-Muslim identity through contemporary artworks that date back to the 1990s.
