In a three-part series that catalogues street art of Singapore’s heritage districts, the spotlight shines upon Little India. All ten of the recommended wall murals hail from an on-going annual project, ARTWALK Little India, that is jointly co-organised by LASALLE’s BA(Hons) Arts Management students and the Singapore Tourism Board.

A recent suggestion in Parliament has sparked lively discussion about the readiness of Singapore to have her first full-fledged arts university. This article lists the merits of such an endeavour, which include facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration and bolstering research output, and cites LASALLE as a keen example that already fulfills both. Such an investment will validate not only the power of the arts, but also position Singapore as a thought leader in Asian-centric arts scholarship.

Storytelling has been around for centuries and in recent years, the audience emphasis has shifted from children to adults. One tell-tale sign of this was the quick sold-out seats to MA Arts Pedagogy and Practice (MA APP) Programme Leader Dr Edmund Chow’s recent workshop at StoryFest.

Fashion students all over graduate into a competitive industry, and while some are determined or have the opportunity to pursue their dreams as full-fledged fashion designers, many more seek out alternative career paths as stylists, writers, and brand executives.

Sustainability, blending the digital world with the analog, and an appreciation of nature and material heritage were among the themes explored at Simulation, LASALLE's Graduate Fashion Show. Simulation featured fourteen collections from the BA(Hons) Fashion Design and Textiles graduands of 2019.
