Media release: One Night Only returns for seventh edition

One Night Only, an annual showcase of works by LASALLE College of the Arts’ BA(Hons) Fine Arts Level 2 and Level 3 students, returns for its seventh edition on Friday 11 November.

After two digital editions during the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s One Night Only sees the revival of a physical showcase at LASALLE’s Winstedt Campus, with diverse artworks by 51 artists on display. The theme for this year, Fluid Fringes, is a nod to the continuous process of learning and unlearning, synthesising new and pre-existing knowledge.

Media release: New creative writing publication from LASALLE College of the Arts to be released at Singapore Writers Festival

The inaugural edition of SAMPAN: The LASALLE Anthology of Creative Writing, an anthology of literary and creative writing by students from the MA Creative Writing programme at LASALLE College of the Arts, will be released at the Singapore Writers Festival during the session “No One Is an Island” on Friday, 11 November 2022 at 8:00pm.

BA(Hons) Musical Theatre alumna Sofie Binte Shahrin Buligis almost didn't choose to study musical theatre because she was shy, and had made plans to study history instead. However, she auditioned for LASALLE after graduating from junior college, and the rest is history.

For Sofie, a lot of her work is informed by her desire to create positive social change and uplift the voices of other women and people of minority races.

a+: In Contemporary Fashion: #SGFASHIONNOW 2022

Singapore fashion takes centre stage at #SGFASHIONNOW, an exhibition series by the Asian Civilisations Museum in partnership with LASALLE College of the Arts and the Textile and Fashion Federation.

Based on a curatorial pitch by BA(Hons) Fashion Media and Industries student Ethan Lai, the exhibition this year presented 16 fashion ensembles and accessory pieces that offered a snapshot of Singapore's fashion landscape.

Berita Harian: Duka Lara, a film about a lonely fisherman, brings a young director to Kosovo

While Nuryn Adryana Binte Abdul Halim was a student in the BA(Hons) Film programme, she acted as the director, writer and producer for the short film, Duka Lara, which made its world premiere at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival DokuFest held in Kosovo. The film tells the story of a fisherman who faces loneliness while living on a fish farm until a mystery occurs.

Tamil Murasu: Niranjan desires to travel the world

BA(Hons) Music graduate Niranjan Pandian grew up surrounded by music, and developed a passion for music at an early age. He realised the greatness of the flute through his guru Dr Ghanavenothan Retnam. Mixing both Indian and Indo jazz music, Niranjan has composed various songs and performed at events after learning to play both the Indian and western flute.
