The Straits Times: Using technology to spotlight pollution

In its second edition this year, MeshMinds 2.0: ArtxTechforGood features artworks that use technology to highlight environmental concerns. One of the featured artworks is by LASALLE student Yashini Renganathan, whose 3D-printed artwork makes visible the problem of light pollution in Singapore, a serious though often overlooked matter. The rest of the artworks in the exhibit fuse art and technology to create immersive environments that help visitors understand the intangible effects of environmental issues from a unique perspective. Berita Mediacorp: Reflecting on Malay-Muslim identity through contemporary art

Several artworks by local veteran artist and LASALLE Fine Arts Senior Lecturer Salleh Japar are featured in STILL, an exhibit currently showing at the Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore. A collaboration with fellow lecturer Joanne Pang, together with students from the School of Design Communication, Salleh's works investigate the Malay-Muslim identity through contemporary artworks that date back to the 1990s.

Tamil Murasu: Art that teaches culture

Five new wall murals were painted for 2019’s edition of ARTWALK Little India, and one them is an ambitious capture of the sights, smell and sound of the historical precinct. Titled A Scent of Lights, this wall mural is the work of Lee Song Xuan (‘SONG’), a fine arts alumnus of LASALLE. He wanted to depict the vibrancy of Indian culture which he had learnt through his interactions with residents of the neighbourhood. “In Indian culture, even light has fragrance,” he said.

Channel 8's 狮城有约: Celebrating nation's founding at iLight Singapore 2019

Marina Bay’s annual sustainable lights festival returns for a special edition to celebrate Singapore’s 200th year since her founding. Of the 32 art installations on display along the waterfront from 28 January to 24 February, one of them is by BA(Hons) Fine Arts students Foo Hui Wen, Lim Yu Zhi and R.Yashini.

Lianhe Zaobao: Take an art walk in Little India

ARTWALK Little India is an annual multi-disciplinary arts festival that celebrates the rich heritage and stories of the precinct. In its fifth edition, visitors can expect to be bombarded with images, smells and sounds through a wide range of activities.
