Students and alumni from LASALLE’s Faculty of Design and Faculty of Fine Arts have created 14 unique gift items, showcased in “The Art of Giving” art exhibition at Scotts Square till 31 December.

Inspired by the Singapore Biennale 2013 theme “If The World Changed”, and in celebration of the holiday season, artists gazed into the future and created wearable art and lifestyle objects using materials from textiles to terracotta.

The diverse artistic responses include works from two Singapore Biennale 2013 artists, Shirley Soh and Tay Bee Aye. The exhibition is a parallel event of the Singapore Biennale 2013.

Each one-of-a-kind art work is up for sale. In the spirit of giving, sale proceeds will go to the LASALLE College of the Arts Student Project Fund, which helps students fund their art practice.

Public are invited to vote for their favourite art piece till 15 December 2013 in Scotts Square. The artist of the winning piece will be awarded the Wheelock Art Prize of $5,000. Wheelock Properties will also donate $10,000 to a charity nominated by the winner.

The exhibition is the fourth in "The Art of Living" series, a long-term collaboration between LASALLE and Wheelock Properties to feature multi-disciplinary art forms across LASALLE’s faculties and provide a public platform for emerging artists’ work.
