Featuring the most innovative collections by emerging graduate designers, the Asian Fashion Graduate Showcase 2013 (AF/GS) is set to pave the way for a more vibrant fashion design scene in the region.

Produced and organised by LASALLE College of the Arts in partnership with selected Asian fashion schools, the inaugural showcase aims to be Asia's leading event for fashion graduates.
Participating schools include Sangmyung University (South Korea), Shanghai Zhuangyuan Culture Academy of Art & Design (People's Republic of China), De La Salle College of St. Benilde (The Philippines).

A fashion show of over 200 garments will be staged at 8pm on Thursday, 23 May 2013 at The Singapore Airlines Theatre at LASALLE. To reach out to a wider audience the showcase will be broadcast on Livestream as the event will be an exclusive showcase for practitioners from the fashion industry and education sector.
"With Singapore's growing prominence as the fashion hub of Asia, AF/GS is a great step forward in promoting the best of contemporary Asian fashion. It provides an excellent platform for emerging young talents from different countries to put together a show of this magnitude," says Professor Steve Dixon, President of LASALLE.

Adds Nur Hidayah Bte Abu Bakar, LASALLE Dean of Faculty of Design who leads the project: "We recognise the importance of giving young talents the opportunity to stretch their creative potential through larger collaborative platforms, like AF/GS.

"I believe that the creative dialogue that AF/GS will facilitate is vital in the development of the Asian fashion platform. I hope that more international schools will participate in the upcoming years to benefit their graduates."

A panel of judges will select the top three collections: Retail & PR Consultant Sandra Cameron, Creative Editor of FEMALE Jeanette Ejlersen and Fashion Editor of City Nomads Zoe Kotey.
