Famous US Choreographer's Impressionistic Take on Singapore

Storied American choreographer Bill T. Jones helms a production, A Letter/Singapore, with LASALLE's dance students for the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA). Featuring 22 students from the College's dance cohort along with professionals from the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company, A Letter/Singapore is "an impressionistic take" on modern Singapore.

On the collaboration, Melissa Quek, Head of LASALLE's School of Dance & Theatre revealed that this is the first time LASALLE has had an entire company in residence. "Though LASALLE has had other artists in residence before, this is a truly unique experience, particularly for the students to observe how the company members work with each other and with their choreographer. Having Bill come here to work with them is such an honour and a privilege. But to have the entire company is not something easily replicated. So we are very grateful to SIFA and the U.S. Embassy for this opportunity," she said.
