Berita Harian speaks with curator Hyrol Sami'on and artist Shazwany Aziz, both LASALLE BA(Hons) Fine Arts alumni, on the exhibition Every move you make at LASALLE's Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) Singapore.
The exhibition showcases works from young artists who pursue art alongside other careers. From Shazwany's collage works made of office materials such as Post-Its and graph paper, to a curved bench by landscape architect Faiz Zohri inspired by seats he saw under a bridge, the exhibition explores how urban environments and conditions of the artists' work affect art and artmaking.
Hyrol, an Exhibitions Executive at the ICA Singapore, shared: "This is the first time I have had to handle the immense task of curating... I am grateful because the field of fine arts that I am exploring has opened doors for me to learn the ropes of exhibiting and curating.”
