LASALLE College of the Arts, which marked its 30th Convocation last month, continues to break new ground, from hiring prominent arts educators to nurturing gifted graduates. Among LASALLE's acclaimed global faculty is Dr Joseph Curiale, an Emmy-nominated composer with nearly three decades of experience working with Hollywood's creme de la creme. Dr Curiale joined LASALLE as a full-time music lecturer last August.
BA(Hons) Music graduate Nicholas Sanjay Zavior, the recipient of this year's McNally Award for Excellence in the Arts, is one of the many students who benefitted from Dr Curiale's guidance.
In an interview with The Straits Times, Dr Curiale shared that LASALLE was one of those rare institutions that prepared students for a working career in music. "I like that it is a performance-based school" he said.
