Academic Framework
LASALLE’s academic framework for practice-based arts education takes students through different stages of learning and levels of achievement - from developing core skills and professional practice to cultivating innovation and leadership.
- FOUNDATION introduces core skills before specialising in a visual or performing arts discipline. Upon completion of Foundation, students progress to Level 1 of their selected programme of study (subject to specialisation requirements).
Duration: 1 year
Entry level: Audition / Portfolio + GCE 'O' Level* (5 subjects including English) + Arts pre-requisites
- LEVEL 1 - 3 of the Undergraduate Programme builds upon core disciplines skills in the selected programme of study, developing independent professional practice and research in the respective visual or performing arts discipline. These Levels lead to a Diploma or Bachelor of Arts (Hons) award.
Duration: 3 years
Entry Level: Audition / Portfolio + GCE 'A' Level* (2 subjects) + Arts pre-requisites
- Professional practice and research are developed further at Level M of the postgraduate programmes. Emphasising innovation and leadership, this Level leads to a Master of Arts.
Duration: 1 - 2 years
Entry Level: Significant professional practice + relevant Degree
- Awards are conferred at three key stages of achievement:
Level 2: Diploma
Level 3:Bachelor of Arts (Hons)
Level M: Master of Arts
