Eight students from the MA Design programme at LASALLE reveal their creative process through design projects in this exhibition, Orange Couch & Lightning, which is the culmination of a year-long process of investigation.
Stanley Lim explores how human senses affect environments through graphical user interfaces and physical computing. Lim Guo Wen addresses new notions of translating literary texts into visual information graphic diagrams. Eugene Pua gives birth to a brand new illustrated pantheon of mythological creatures that reflect contemporary narratives. Huang Weiming uses information graphics to improve on the design of transportation signage in Singapore. Rajee Vissa draws on her cultural heritage to create a sustainable system for fashion production and creation. Hemika Singh designs textile prints based on the passing of time in natural forms and the body. Zaid Shehadeh proposes vertical gardens in response to a rarified horizontal urban space in Singapore. And Edmund Lim believes in the power of architecture to promote greater social integration in public housing complexes.
