Singapore, 1 March 2010
From musical theatre to visual arts to fashion design, this year’s line-up of graduation shows by the students of LASALLE College of the Arts are set to astound the mind and the senses.
Known as the LASALLE Show '10, these works are the defining artistic expression of the final year students as they showcase their cumulative knowledge and skills in this last extravaganza before they set out as professionals in the creative industries.
To kick-start the activities, LASALLE’s Arts Management diploma students present: ‘I-AM 2010’, a local-based Arts festival aimed at exploring a range of modern-day themes relating particularly to Singapore in this age of globalisation. The events, which include artist collaborations, workshops and interactive public installations offer a look into issues such as family relationships and the exploration of identity within Singapore’s multi-cultured society.
This will be followed by the smash hit Broadway musical ‘Sweet Charity’, performed by the students from the Musical Theatre (Honours) degree programme. The production will showcase LASALLE’s ‘Triple Threats’, as they capture the rhythms and sounds of 1960s New York through song, dance and witty repartee.
Audiences will enter new worlds through the reproduction of the award-winning play ‘The Wonderful World of Dissocia’ and contemporary dance ‘Fly with me’ by graduating acting and dance students respectively.
In addition, an array of diverse talent and stunningly-detailed work by the various Diploma, BA (Honours) and Master of Arts disciplines in Design, Fashion, Fine Arts and Media Arts will be shown at the Visual Arts exhibition.
The LASALLE Show '10 runs from 18 March - 10 June 2010.
