It is found that artists with disabilities are inspired to unleash powerful expressions when they view and draw famous paintings such as Mona Lisa. The Hayashibara International Art Festival ‘Rising Stars 2008-2009" - "My Mona Lisa" Drawing Competition aims to promote the arts through drawings by persons with disabilities. In this competition, artists are encouraged to use their imagination to portray their own Mona Lisa.
My Mona Lisa exhibition is a collaboration between Hayashibara Foundation of Japan, Hong Kong's Centre for Community Cultural Development (CCCD) and Very Special Arts Singapore. The exhibition showcases 53 selected entries from Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore and China.
