How does a piece of ancient bogwood become a sculpture? How does a thesis subject become a vibrant arts college? For Brother Joseph McNally, the answer was insight, tenacity and passion.
25 years after the founding of LASALLE College of the Arts, students from the Performing Arts Foundation, Technical Theatre, Arts Management and Visual Studies Foundation programmes prove that Brother Joseph’s spirit lives on.
Using the college’s dynamic façade as a stage, Lost | Found[ation] is an inspired response to the life and work of Brother Joseph McNally. All the work in the performance are devised and created by the students. Using the hands and imagination of artists like Brother Joseph, Queen Latifah, Merce Cunningham and Frank Zappa, to name a few, these objects transcend their humble origins to become symbols of how creativity can be an empowering force that transforms lives.
