The ORIGINS is a sextet formed in Singapore with the aim of exploring the various depths of jazz. While popular jazz music has become widely performed in Singapore, the band seeks to bring the lesser known pieces to the audience from all genres of jazz such as bebop, funk, Latin, African, and soul, including original tunes. The band features a dynamic and young rhythm section comprising of Brandon Wong (bass), Lee Lin Chow (drums), and Norman Seck (piano). Meanwhile, the instrumental section with Anabel Chew (flute), Leo Jeoh (trombone), and Daniel Wong (trumpet), adds the distinctive and spectacular aural colours to the tunes performed. The band currently performs regularly at the Blujaz cafe on the second and fourth Monday of each month.
