Singapore Biennale 2006

ICA Singapore’s Director, Eugene Tan was part of the team of curators headed by artistic director Fumio Nanjo for Singapore’s inaugural Biennale.

Symposium: The Biennale Complex

As part of the Singapore Biennale, ICA Singapore co-organised a symposium in partnership with international organisations such as Institut fur Auslandsbeziehungen e.V., Universes in Universe and AICA Singapore. The symposium brings together an important group of international participants including curators, art critics, writers, museum directors, artists and biennale mangers. LASALLE-SIA was the venue for the symposium’s first day on 31 August 2006.

International Photography Research Network (IPRN)

This is a collaboration with the International Photography Research Network (IPRN) to organise a Singapore-UK Residency programme, as part of the IPRN Asia-UK Photography Exchange Commissions. IPRN is an organisation that aims to stimulate the production and presentation of photographic practice, and academic and artistic research in photography. The programme provides two photographers from Singapore and the UK with a residency and commission on an Asia-UK theme. The residency is supported by the National Arts Council Singapore and Arts Council England, as a part of a Cultural Memorandum of Understanding promoting artistic collaboration and creative partnerships between Singapore and the UK.

ARCO 2006, Madrid, Spain

ICA Singapore curated the presentation of Singaporean artists in the Cityscapes section.

Venice Biennale 2005 (Italy)

ICA Singapore curated Singapore’s representation at the International Art Exhibition.
