The Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore (ICAS) is the curatorial division of LASALLE College of the Arts. It runs the LASALLE Galleries, comprising some 1500 square meters of gallery spaces dedicated to exploring new and experimental art, design and media practices. Its exhibitions and programme showcase international, Asian, South-east Asian and local contemporary art with the aim of contributing to the artistic and cultural enhancement of students, artists and members of the public.

ICAS is committed to the experimental and the new; it seeks to support practices which challenge orthodoxies and establishment. This serves not only as an important educational tool for students but, provide spaces not otherwise available in Singapore today. Equally, it is the endeavor of the ICA to exhibit some of the best of contemporary art today in order to offer a creative model to artists to explore contemporary life and imaginatively experiment in the new.  

In support of emerging young artists, ICAS holds a monthly showcase to feature invited artists to exhibit in an intimate space called TRISPACE.  It also stages an annual exhibition of selections from LASALLE’s permanent collection of 800 works, of which ICAS is the custodian. In addition, it conducts an outreach programme, including regular publications, seminars and symposiums, talks by visiting artists and contemporary sound and music events.
